2. What got you interested in the field of dermatology?
The psychosocial impact of skin conditions is stunning- Even acne causes significant distress. It is very rewarding to help patients get clear skin.
3. It is Psoriasis Awareness Month – we’d love to ask you some questions on taking care of skin with psoriasis. What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a genetic and autoimmune phenomenon that causes rashes on the elbows, knees, scalp, or other parts of the body. It can also affect the nails and joints.
4. What triggers psoriasis?
If prone to psoriasis, it can be triggered by any stressors, and even high amounts of gluten.
5. What can people do at home to take care of their skin while dealing with psoriasis?
Avoid scratching, as those prone to psoriasis can develop new lesions of psoriasis where scratched. Treat rashes as soon as they appear to keep the skin clear and keep the disease process at bay.
6. What ingredients should people look out for to treat psoriasis?
Anti-inflammatory topicals are key, as psoriasis is essentially a type of inflammation in the skin
7. Can you recommend a simple skincare regimen for psoriasis?
While sun protection is important, in psoriasis 10 minutes a day of sun exposure can actually help the psoriasis resolve.

Consider a salt-water bath, which can help!
